CHAPTER 1
In this chapter Jackie is getting married to Simon Doyle but then Linnet takes him for herself. They are going to go on a cruise to Egypt so they are all talking about it. Most of the Characters are introduced.
CHAPTER 2
In this chapter Mrs. Allerton sees Poirot and she Poirot and Tim talk for a little bit. The Allertons, Hercule Poirot, Linnet, Simon, Jackie and Rosalie are at a hotel. Rosalie is really jealous of Linnet use she is with Simon. Jackie follows Linnet and Simon to the Hotel.

At the end of the chapter he asked Linnet what Jackie had threatened her. Linnet said that Jackie said that she would kill her and Simon.

In this chapter Hercule Poirot is talking to Jackie. In the middle of the chapter Jackie shows Poirot a small pearl-handled pistol.
Poirot told Jackie to leave Linnet alone. When they leave Jackie said that you can't stop me. Poirot told Jackie that she could have held her hand she let it pass by in a metaphor. Jackie tells Poirot that she just wants to put her pistol to Linnets head and press the trigger.

In this chapter Linnet and Simon sneak out so Jackie can't follow them on the boat. Mrs. Allerton Poirot is talking about what could cause certain people to murder. It is the beginning of the cruise. Poirot is talking to a new character mentioned in this chapter his name is Signor Guido Richetti he is and Italian archaeologist. Linnet and Simon find out that Jackie followed them on the cruise,

CHAPTER 9
In this chapter Poirot talks to a lot of people. Mrs. Otterbourne is mad. Andrew Penningot asks Linnet to sign some papers. Linnet starts to read through them. Jim Fanthorp comments on Linnet for reading through all the papers before she signs them. Simon said that when someone asks him to sign something he just signs were he has to and does't read through them. Then Andrew Pennington leaves with the papers. Mrs. Van Schulyer is bossy and bad tempered when they reach their first port.
CHAPTER 10
In this chapter Poirot is talking to Andrew Pennington. He also talks to Linnet and Simon. Simon told him that they were over Jackie following them that they would not make a big deal out of it. Later they lay down on some chairs and Linnet almost gets crushed by a bolder that fell. Simon thinks it is Jackie
but then they realized it could not have been her because she wasn't there when it happened.
CHAPTER 11
In this chapter Poirot talks with Jackie for a little bit and she starts to say I'd kill him sooner and then stops their. He also talks with Colonel Race. He tells Poirot that there is a murderer on the ship and that if they were going to murder someone they wouldn't talk about it. Linnet also picks up a note then Richetti takes it away from her because it was actually his. he got really mad about it.
CHAPTER 12
In this chapter Simon, Cornelia, Jim and Jackie are on the ship late at night. Jackie drinks a lot. Jackie got really mad a Simon for leaving her that she takes out a pistol and shoots Simon's leg. Jackie gets really upset with herself and wants to kill herself. In the end of the chapter Jim and Dr. bessner are looking for the pistol that Jackie kicked under a settee and they cant find it they think someone took it.
CHAPTER 13
In this chapter Linnet is killed. She was shot close up to her head like Jackie said. She was shot with a 22 pistol between 12 and 2 AM the night Simon was shot in the leg. Poirot interviews a few people. One of the people he interviews is Mr. Fanthorp. When Poirot asks him why he is here he paused and then said er-pleasure. On the wall in blood were Linnet is killed there is a J on the wall. They found out that Jackie did not do the crime because she was under Miss Bowers watch all night.
CHAPTER 14
In this chapter more people are interviewed. They found out that Simon, Mrs and Mr Allerton, Mrs Van Schuyler, or Ms Bowers didn't have anything to do with killing Linnet. They interviewed Linnets maid. She said that Linnet had another person on the boat who disliked her. She also said that Linnet took of her pearls and put them on the bedside and when she saw Linnet dead she also noticed her pearls gone.
CHAPTER 15
In this chapter more people get interviewed. Fleetwood gets interviewed and when he does he gets all sweaty. The Allertons also get interviewed both of them said they heard a splash. Race thinks that who ever the murderer is threw the gun over board.
CHAPTER 16
In this chapter they interview Miss Van Sculyer. She said she heard the splash. She said she saw Rosalie drop something into the Nile. They found the pistol and it was wrapped in Mis Van Schulyer's handkerchief and they realized that, that is what made the shot so silent.
CHAPTER 17
In this chapter Rosalie, Mrs Otterboutne. Richetti, and Ferguson were interviewed. In the chapter before Miss Van Schuyler said that she saw Rosalie drop something into the ocean. When Rosalie was interviewed she said she never did that. All the people they interviewed said they heard a splash. When Race and Poirot said that Fleetwood might be the murderer Ferguson gets all mad. When Rosalie was interigated she got really pale when they asked her some questions. They want to interview Pennington in the end for some reson. They don't interview Pennington in this chapter though they are probaly going to do it in the next chapter because at the end of the chapter Race says lets have a go at Pennington. Mrs Otterbourne thinks that Miss Bowers had something to do with the murder.
CHAPTER 18
In this chapter Poirot and Race interview Andrew Pennington. When they asked him where he was when the boulder almost landed on Linnet he said that he was at the temple of Abu Simbel. Poirot said that was a lie because he was there when the boulder fell and Pennington was not. After they interviewed Penninton they made a sheet of what has happened so far and people's motives for killing Linnet. He also wrote down who had possible motives for killing Linnet and who did not. So far the ones who do have a motive are Andrew Pennington, Fleetwood, Rosalie Otterbourne, Miss Van Schuyler, Louise Bourget and Ferguson. The people who so far are free of suspicion are Mrs Allerton, Tim Allerton, Cornelia Robson, Miss Bowers, Dr. Bessner, Signor Richetti, Mrs Otterbourne and James Fathorp.
CHAPTER 19
In this chapter Poirot and Race were in a room and there was a knock on the door. The steward at the door said that Simon wanted to talk to Poirot. When Poirot was in Simons room Simon said he wanted to talk to Jackie. Poirot went to find Jackie when he did he brought her to Simon. Jackie was telling Simon that she didn't kill Linnet and that she was really sorry. Simon also apologized to Jackie. When Poirot left he saw Cornelia. He started to talk to her and then he heard something by a cabin. He knocked on the door and asked if Rosalie was there. When Rosalie answered the door she had dark circles under her eyes and drawn lines around her mouth. Poirot then talks to Rosalie. Poirot said to Rosalie that her mother drinks and what she had thrown overboard was the drinks and threw them overboard. Rosalie agreed with him and said that her mother had been really mean to her for trying to get her over her drinking problem. At the end of the chapter he asked Rosalie if she had seen anyone when she threw the drinks overboard. She said she saw nobody.
CHAPTER 20
In this chapter they are getting everyone in the saloon so they can go and evestigate the passengers room to look for the pearls. When Tim Allerton walks in he sits next to his mother all mad. He said he wished he has never come on this trip because of Linnets death. Then Poirot walks in and talks to the Allertons for a little bit. Then Race comes in an announced that everyones roomed would be searched. Then Poirot and Race walk out side and a steward comes up to them and says that someone walks to talk to them. They ask who it is and he says it Ms Bowers. They are suprised. They say to bring her to the smoking room and to not let anyone leave. When they get their Ms Bowers hads them the pearls.
CHAPTER 21
In this chapter Poirot and Race talk to Miss Bowers about why she had the pearls. She told them that Miss Van Schuyler had taken them because she likes jewelry and things of that nature. She also told them that Miss Vav Schuyler was a little deaf. She could hear when you are talking to her but she might not hear someone come into a room. When Miss Bowers left Poirot and Race were wondering why nobody heard the shot. Then Poirot licked the pearls and put them between his teeth. He told Poirot that the pearls were a clever imitation.
CHAPTER 22
In this chapter Poirot and Race search the passenger's rooms for the pearls. They do not find the pearls in any of the rooms. In Penningtons room they found a whole bunch of papers for Linnet to sign. Louise Bourget, Linnets maid had disappeared nobody can find her. Poirot and Race also search their own rooms because Poirot said that one time when he was on the Orient Express When he was investigating a murder a scarlet kimono was involved and it ended up in his locked suitcase. When they search Dr.
CHAPTER 23
In this chapter Race and Poirot find Louise Bourget dead under her bed. She was stabbed to the heart. In her hand she had a ripped piece of money in her hand. Poirot said that Louise must have seen someone come out of Linnets cabin and they bribed her not to tell anybody and when she was counting the money they stabbed her and took the money and left. They have Dr. Bessner come look at Louise he said she was dead for about and hour. He also said that it was not just an average knife that killed her so he shows them one of his knives and he said that it was something like that. Then Poirot asks him if any of the knives were ever missing and things like that so Dr Bessner is yelling at them saying stuff like "you accuse me of killing Louise I did not do it". Then Poirot heres Jackie and Rosalie talking he then goes and tells them what happened. Poirot asked Rosalie if she had seen anything and she said she had seen no one.
CHAPTER 24
In this chapter Miss Bessner comes in and talks about Simon and how he's doing. She said that he has a fever and that they should get it x-rayed. Jackie gets really sad so Poirot takes her to her room to try and comfort her. Then Poirot and Race go and talk to Simon. They start to ask him about what the telegram had said that Linnet thought was hers and was really Richitti's. When he is about to tell them Mrs. Otterbourne comes running into the room saying she saw someone coming out of Louise's cabin. She told them the story then write when she was about to say the name their was a huge boom Mrs Otterbourne had been shot with a revolver. They see who is on the deck and realize Penninton is not their so they look for him in his room but cant find him then they find him on the deck below. They ask him if he has left and he said no. Then Poirot said that Mrs Otterbourne had just been shot with your revolver.
CHAPTER 25
In this chapter Race and Poirot are with Pennington. Pennington asks schocked that their has been another death and that this time it was with his pistol. When Poirot tells him to meet him in an hour to talk he doen't sound or look the least bit interested. Cornelia is really said becasue her mother is dead so Mrs. Allerton says that Cornelia can stay in her room with her. Cornelia also talks with Ferguson. Ferguson is glad that Louise, Mrs Otterbourne, and Linnet are dead. Cornelia is sad about that. Then Ferguson asks Cornelia to marry him and she says no. Then he talks to Miss Van Schuyler and she told him that Cornelia was not right for him.
CHAPTER 26
In this chapter Poirot asks Race to get Jim Fanthorp. Poirot and Fanthorp start to talk. Poirot asks Fanthorp what he was doing on the boat. Then Poirot asks him if he was on the boat to prevent Linnet from signing any documents unread. He started to tell him what he was doing on the boat. Race asks him if his uncle thought Andrew Penninton was a crook. Jim Fanthorp nodded to that comment. Then he said that his uncle sent him to keep an eye on Linnet so she wouldn't sign any papers that would give him money. Then Fanthorp leaves and Pennington come's in. They interviewed Pennington. He did not want to be there. He kept asking why they were asking him questions. He told a bunch of lies about why he was here. He said that he tripped and pushed the boulder that almost fell on Linnet. He said it was an accident. Then he got really mad and left.
CHAPTER 27
In this chapter Poirot tells Race that Pennington everyone did not do the crime. They interview Tim Allerton he admitted to stealing the pearls. He said he did not murderer her though. Poirot said he did and explained how he did it. He said that he over heard what happened in the saloon when everyone left he took the pistol. When when the boat quieted down he went into Linnets room but Louise saw him. Then the next day she came to him and blackmailed him. Then they made an appointment to come to her cabin with the money. Then when she was counting the money he stabbed her but someone saw him go into her cabin. Then he heard about Penningtons revolver took it listened outside Dr Bessners cabin and shot Mrs Otterbourne before she could say his name. Rosalie said that, that did not happen. Then Poirot lets him take the pearls to examine them with Rosalie. When they left he through them into the Nile. Rosalie and Tim are getting married.
CHAPTER 28
In this chapter Poirot and Race think that Fleetwood did the crime. Then Dr Bessner and Cornelia are at the door. Cornelia said that Dr Bessner told her that Miss Van Schuyler has kleptomania. She was worried that word would get out that Miss Van Schuyler had kleptomania. Dr Bessner said that Simon had a slight fever. He also told them what Simon had told him about the telegram Richitti received. It was about vegetables, potatoes, and stuff like that. Then race said it was a code. Potatoes mean machine guns, artichokes are high explosives, and so on. At the end of the chapter Poirot said the murderer had to take the pistol away because he had no choice in the matter.
CHAPTER 29
In this chapter Poirot tells Race and Dr. Bessner about who the murderer could be. He told them how Jackie and Simon could be the murderers. He said that Jackie shot at Simon's leg but missed purposely. Simon was alone for about five minuets. When Jackie kicked it under the chair Simon grabbed it when he was alone. Then he ran out and killed Linnet. Then he grabbed Miss Van Schuyler's handkerchief muffled the sound and shot his own leg. But someone saw him and that someone was Louise. When he got back he threw the pistol and the handkerchief overboard. The pistol probably hit the table because there is a hole in it. When Simon said she wanted to talk to Jackie it was to tell her about Louise, Simon told her where Dr. Bessner's knives were. Jackie took care of Louise. But Mrs Otterbourne saw Jackie go in and out of Louise's cabin. Then when Mrs Otterbourne was about to tell who did it Jackie shot her with Penningtons revolver then went into her room. Poirot also told them why Jackie and Simon did it. He said that they still loved each other so they planned this so then they would have Linnet's money and each other.
CHAPTER 30
Poirot goes to a cabin. Jackie is in there with a stewardess. Then the stewardess leaves. Jackie told Poirot that he was too clever for us. She admitted that Simon killed Linnet and that she killed Louise and Mrs Otterbourne. She also told him the story about why they killed Linnet. Jackie said that Simon loved money so she married Linnet. Then he was wishing that Linnet would die so he could get her money and then marry Jackie. Then Jackie also told him about how they had done it and it was what Poirot had said. Jackie also told him that Simon got fired from his other job because he was trying to do something to get more money.
CHAPTER 31
In the last chapter they are ashore. Simon gets carried out on a strecher. Jackie walks up to him. They apologize to each other. Then Jackie takes out a pistol and shoots Simon. Then as Race comes up to her she points it at her heart and pushes the trigger. Cornelia is going to marry Dr Bessner. Rosalie is going to marry Tim Allerton. In the end Ferguson says it's the future that matters not the past.
